We have seen this virus in action as well. If you have the wrong variant - you will more than likely have to format the machine and re-install. This was not only our observation but many of the experts as well.

It will inject iteself into core windows systems files that your antivirus software will not be able to heal or remove. In some cases running an anti-malware utility will actuall speed up the system infection. This virus will also block (via host file) the ability to visit support sites.

*IF* you are attempting to clean this thing then please take the precaution of using CDR's for transferring files to it. It will infect USB drives (as the article mentions) as soon as they are inserted. I would also recommend NOT connecting it to the Internet.
